Homebirth & Midwifery Services
Prenatal care is the development of a relationship between the you & your midwife. We love to get to know you, your significant other, your children, and other support persons who will be present at your birth. After your initial visit, subsequent visit will be 45 -60 minutes of one-on-one time with the midwife.
The initial visit will take a bit longer. We will review your health and maternity history, your wellness goals for pregnancy, and your birth plan. A complete physical exam will be done. At every visit you will have talk time with your midwife: general wellbeing, nutrition and lifestyle, stress management, discomforts of pregnancy, prenatal education & time to answer any questions. Recommended lab tests, referrals, consultations to physicians if indicated or other procedures will be discussed in full. Each visit includes a clinical exam: vital signs- including blood pressures & pulse, abdominal exam, and fetal heart tones.
Visit scheduled are usually every four weeks until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and weekly after 36 weeks until birth.
